Worth buying as a new player coming to the games franchise? 1 As other have already said, yes, it is the latest game in the Age of Wonders franchise, this being the first with a sci-fi theme. I am buying this title and i am well aware and more than willing to give it time and a good honest focus play through to learn the mechanics and all thatĢ. I usually always buy game + season pass or game + all available DLC just because when i start to play a new game i want the FULL deal experience and especially if i do get hooked or attached to a game i've already got the extra content :) I would recommend all 3 DLC for the best experience the game has to offer as the base game do lack some flavor, but thats at the condition you like the game. If you take time to learn how the game works it is an enjoyable game with quite newcommer friendly AI options. You must like turn based battles or you wont like planetfall. There is diplomacy and city management but it is heavily oriented toward war and battles/explorations are the main focus of the game. It has some civilization/endless legend aspect mixed with some xcom like battles. The game does have a learning curve which is easier to tackle if you played previous age of wonder. previous title are fantasy however this one is the first of the age of wonder serie to be science fiction oriented.Ģ/ like all 4x it has its flaws (especially on the Ai side when you hit hate game).
